This is an old recipe of uncertain origin that Carol has been making for decades. Nobody ever turns down a second one. It's a savory snack that's a nice old-fashioned way to eat your spinach.

                   Spinach Squares
                             Carol
1 egg         1 cup whole milk
1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter
1 sm. onion chopped fine
1/8 cup (2 Tbs.) dried onion flakes
1 jar Kraft Olde English cheese spread
1 jar Kraft Roka Blue cheese spread
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 10 oz. box frozen spinach
1 cup Bisquick mix

Instructions

Use either 8x8" or 9x9" nonstick pan. Preheat oven to 350F for 8", 325 for 9".

Squeeze all the water out of the spinach. By hand or in a heavy mixer slowly mix egg, milk, butter, and onion.

Add the jarred cheeses, cheddar, spinach, and Bisquick. Slowly mix until combined. Spread in pan.

Bake for 15-20 minutes. Cool or serve warm cut into squares.
