Carol's mom Rita made these as far back as she can remember. It's a variation of Harvard Beets. The source of the original recipe is lost to history. They're sliced beets in a sweet and sour sauce.

                   Reet's Beets
                            Rita Brashear
1 can sliced beets
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbs cornstarch
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup beet liquid from can

Instructions

In a sauce pan combine the sugar and cornstarch mixing well. On medium heat add the vinegar and beet juice. Stir until thickened. Add beets. When beets are heated and coated it's done.

Notes - If using fresh beets they must be cooked completely first.
