The two photos below were taken in Mildred Seaver's garden not long after the AHS convention in 1997. It was there that a Queen of the Seas leaf from this plant was exhibited to some controversy. At the time, an unregistered hosta could not be entered by name, yet it had won Best of Show. It caused a lot of confusion as it was entered as "QOS9702 ". This plant was apparently lost not long after, and a sibling (above) entered the trade under the Queen of the Seas name.
