'Northern Lights' is 30x14" with 24-30" scapes. This plant has proved very difficult to raise. It is not uncommon to have only 4 leaves after as many years. Zilis says that it is a collector's curiosity at best. Van Wade says that he cannot keep it stable. The leaves have a pure white center with none of the "misting" found in 'Northern Mist' variants, and wide blue-green margins which often feather their way toward the middle. They are broadly ovate with some waviness in the margins. The substance is average and there is a little corrugation. The plant came to us from Walters Gardens in 1984. It is a mutation from sieboldiana 'Elegans'.
