| From Japan, this plant already has its own mythology. The variegation is a white/yellow/cream stripe which surrounds and includes each vein in the leaf. It is a sieboldii mutation with a pattern similar to the rectifolia cultivar 'Amime Tachi'. It looks very unhosta-like but certainly interesting. There is debate over the source of this variegation pattern, but it has never been shown to be caused by a virus, as some suspect. |
