| 'Manhattan' was registered by Petryszyn and Brincka in 1994. It is a seedling from 'Sea Frolic'. The growth rate is glacial but the leaves are unique: according to the registration description, they are light green turning darker green with blue hues; having a heavily rippled margin; slightly shiny above and dull underneath; intensely rippled; deeply corrugated; heavy substance; broadly ovate with a cordate base. The flowers are pale purple and tubular, and fertile. Don't hold your breath for a growth spurt on this one. |
