Lunar Night (Lydell 98)

In 1998 Ransom Lydell registered 'Lunar Night', which is 32" in diameter and 24" high. This plant, a sport of 'Lunar Magic', exhibits a moderate growth rate and has a broadly ovate (9" x 8") leaf with a cordate base. The leaf is dark green with a flat margin, moderately wavy and lightly corrugated. The top and underneath are dull and there are 9-10 pairs of veins. The tubular flowers are pale lavender and grow on a 28-30" scape. The flowers bloom beginning in mid-June in New York. The seed pod is green and contains viable seed.
