Introduced by L. Simpers and registered in 1999 by P. Ruh, 'Lilac Love' is 12" in diameter and 11" high. Its parentage is unknown. It exhibits a moderate growth rate and forms mound-like clumps. The 5" long x 2.5" wide, lance-shaped leaf has a tapered base and slightly rippled margin. The medium green leaf is dull on the top and very shiny underneath, lightly cupped, lightly twisted, and lightly folded. It has 7 pairs of prominent veins. The lavender striped, long bell-shaped flowers grow atop 22" long green scapes that have inflorescence leaves. The plant blooms midseason and the green pods produce viable seed.
