Registered in 1977 by Robert P. Savory, 'Lemon Lime' is a mini hosta that reblooms several times beginning midseason. The light purple flowers are bell-shaped and fertile. The scape is 13-18" in height, bare and straight. The flat, lanceolate, chartreuse-gold leaves measure 3" x 1". Savory gives the measurements as 7" in diameter and 5" high. 'Lemon Lime' is a nakaiana hybrid. Robert Solberg has hailed this variety as a good grower/increaser, which makes it an excellent groundcover. The plant will flush once or twice in the spring and again in the fall and it usually sets 3 sets of buds per flush. |
