'Lakeport Blue' is one of Chet Tompkins' hybrids that was registered in 1984. In form the 46-48" diameter x 34-36" tall plant resembles sieboldiana. In the AHS registration it is described as a giant green hosta with heavy blue bloom. The 14-16" x 11-13" leaves are cordate, of very heavy substance and heavily rugose. There are 12-13 pairs of veins. The bare, straight scape varies in height from 30-39' and bears pale lavender to white bell-shaped flowers in midseason. The seeds are fertile.
