In terms of growth pattern, the medium-sized 'Lakeside Dragonfly'
resembles a giant tarantula. Its long, graceful leaves stretch from the
plant's crown in the same way that its legs extend from the tarantula's
body. These intricately beautiful leaves remind me of the blue green of a
dragonfly, but they have a very wide white undulating border. Pale orchid
flowers add to its color scheme. A 1997 registration, it is fast-growing
with a moundlike habit. The leaves are lance-shaped with tapered bases.
The parentage is unknown. Submitted by Mary Chastain |
