'Fragrant Blue' is one of the bluest hostas and truly a breakthrough in hosta breeding. It combines the fragrance of plantagenia with the blue color of sieboldiana. It was renamed and registered in 1988 with made-up parentage by Aden, and is one of the many plants he took without permission from Kevin Vaughn. The actual parentage and original name were lost. It is a medium size plant, largely without problems and highly fertile.
