'Fourth of July' was a 1993 registered hosta by Avent and Taylor. The plant is 24" wide by 10" high and has dark green glossy leaves that are 6" long by 1" wide. There are 5 pairs of prominent veins. The margins are slightly rippled. The flowers are violet. The names comes from not only the burst of cascading leaves but from the red stippling on the stems. It is a rapid grower. The flowers are purple and tubular. The parentage is unknown, but appears to involve kikutii.
