'Fool's Gold' is the new name for 'Fortunei Stenantha', which was also known as 'Mackwood 23'. It was so named because its shadowy gold marginal variegation leads one to hope it will turn to brighter gold, though it never does. It is an old plant, dating back to the 1950's when it was first described by Hylander. The name change is the result of 'Fortunei' losing it's status as a species, and the prohibition of Latin cultivar names. 'Brass Horn' is probably the same plant.
