Handy Hatfield brought out 'Dick Ward' in 1991. A sport of 'Zounds', it measures 30 x 16" with 20" bloom scapes. The flowers are tubular and violet. This is a slowing growing plant and came out in TC for the first time in 1999. The leaves are brassy yellow, puckered, and have a broad green margin. The leaves are really pest-resistant. The plant pales in the sun; it looks its best in 3/4 shade. 'Midwest Magic' is a similar sport.
