'Crumples', from Diana Grenfell, was introduced in 1994. The size is 24 x 14" with 22" scapes. The leaves are medium green with heavily rippled margins. The leaf is dull on top and the underside as well. The shape of the leaf is broadly ovate with a cordate base. It is intensely corrugated. Grenfell says that the seed pods are a dark grayish brown. It is a sieboldiana hybrid. It is one of those hostas for which the word rugose is designed.
