| This is one of 4 hostas which share the same ancestry. The other 3 are 'Great Expectations', 'George Smith', and 'Dream Weaver'. All are sieboldiana sports or mutations. These plants have occasioned much discussion in the hosta world as to their true distinctions. The foliage mound of 'Borwick Beauty' can be as much as 48 X 30" with an 18 to 32" bloom scape. It does not grow rapidly. The leaves are yellowish-white (albescent) with very irregular deep blue-green margins and may reach 9 x 9". They are also round-cordate and cupped-rugose. This comes from McBurnie in 1988. The flowers are funnel-shaped and white. Fertile. |
