'Blue Moon' is another Smith Tardiana (TF2x2), introduced by Paul Aden. It makes a deeply cupped dense mound of small cordate leaves. The leaves are blue with a glaucous underside with raised veins. The hosta is considered small at 12 x 5"; ideal for borders and rock gardens. The flowers are near-white and bloom late in the summer. It needs light filtered shade (35%-85%). There are false Blue Moons out there, so be careful, especially about the size of the plant. The blue of this plant ranks number 1 on Zilis's blue scale of Smith's plants.
