This is the much "dreamed of" sport (mutation) of 'Blue Angel'. It seems to have been discovered in two different places at roughly the same time. The late Rick Thompson discovered it and called it 'Guardian Angel' and Chick Wasitis has called his sport 'Angel Eyes'. A comparison of these two plants at maturity will offer the best test as to whether they are the same sport. Early in the season the center of the leaf has a white to pale green color and " greens up" as the summer progresses. By the end of the season there is still a contrast of the outside dark blue green of the edge, to the central portion of the leaf. A textbook-case example of viridescence. It is a moderate grower and tends to make a medium to large sized mound.
